Attorney Richard Voigt discusses the history of Jim Crow laws. How did these laws, which were intended to separate the races, come into being? When did they reach their peak and why? When did they start to erode and why? Who are some of the infrequently recognized heroes in the struggle against these laws? What can we learn from this history that might relate to current issues? The answers may contain some surprises.
