Event:Stories of Agriculture in Bloomfield @ Prosser Library
Date:February 24th, 2010.
Time:7:30 PM
Location:Prosser Public Library, 1 Tunxis Avenue, Bloomfield
Contact:Carol Lennig, 243-9721
Bloomfield currently is home to a number of significant non-agricultural businesses and industries. But for the first 200 years of Bloomfield's existence as Wintonbury Parish (before 1835), and then as a municipality, most town land was devoted to agricultural pursuits. Local Historian and vice president of the Wintonbury Historical Society, Fred Hesketh will present tales relating to those who toiled on Bloomfield farms in those days and their place in both the town and the state. Please call to register: 860-243-9721.
Before this event, the Wintonbury Historical Society will hold a brief business meeting at 7:00 P.M. in the Community Room.
