Celebrate & Support CASAC's 20 Years of Community Involvement

Celebrate & Support CASAC's 20 Years of Community Involvement
The best science and experience tells us that reducing drug use at the community level takes time: time to put the needed inter ventions in place; time to change the underlying reasons for drug use in the community; time for getting outcomes; time to garner resources.

Capital Area Substance Abuse Council (CASAC) initiates programs and events that mobilize communities, increases public awareness, educates individuals and communities, and advocates for increased and improved prevention services. CASAC, a Regional Action Council, is the umbrella organization for the sixteen-town region of Avon, Bloomfield, Canton, East Granby, Farmington, Granby, Hartford, Hartland, Newington, Rocky Hill, Simsbury, Suffield, West Hartford, Wethersfield, Windsor and Windsor Locks.

CASAC, established by the Connecticut State Legislature in 1990, is a private/public partnership comprised of community leaders and citizens who develop and carry out strategies to reduce alcohol, tobacco, other drug use and risky behaviors in our communities. CASAC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization funded in part by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and private donations.

Please take this opportunity to support CASAC as we celebrate our first 20 years. If you would like to help fuel prevention efforts in CASAC's region, please consider making a tax deductible donation today.

Your donation will do so much to help our youth grow up and stay drug free.

CASAC's challenge is maintaining sustainability to continue to intervene at the community level long enough to see community-level outcomes. If volunteers are the engine and the coalition process is the vehicle then resources are the fuel.

For more information, contact Mirelle Freedman at executivedirector@casac.org or 860.286.9333 or for the donation form please visit our website at CASAC.

Pepe & Hazard LLP, (Hartford, CT) Chooses Retrievex to Manage Documents

Pepe & Hazard LLP, (Hartford, CT) Chooses Retrievex to Manage Documents
Recently Retrievex was selected by Pepe & Hazard LLP (recently merged with McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP), a leading New England Law Firm headquartered in Hartford, CT, as their records management vendor of choice. Retrievex seamlessly transferred Pepe & Hazard LLP's documents to Retrievex's archives. Retrievex worked with the firm to customize RecordsLink, Retrievex's online records management system, to meet their unique records management needs.

According to Cindi LeMay, Records Manager at Pepe & Hazard LLC

"About a year ago I made the decision to investigate cutting costs and increasing customer service in connection with our off-site storage vendor.. During the initial phase I received a number of proposals from a variety of off-site records management vendors. While reviewing the proposals and arranging meetings with my top choices, Retrievex stood out as a very competitive, professional, organized and user friendly company.

Ultimately I selected Retrievex, and I have to say, they are a terrific choice. Retrievex personnel are wonderful to work with. We receive regular updates on the transfer process, the boxes are immediately scanned into the Retrievex system upon arrival and the transfer has gone very smoothly, we have had no issues with retrieving boxes during the entire process. As we near the end of the transfer, I can say it was a very positive experience and it is all due to the personnel at Retrievex. I had very minimal involvement in the process so all credit goes to Retrievex. All I had to do was read the transfer update e-mails!

Retrievex is extremely responsive; if it were necessary we could actually speak to a real person on the other end. We rely heavily on the web product RecordsLink which is very easy to use and the training class provided to my staff was lively, fun and made our switch very easy.

Our deliveries and pick-ups are made by Jason. Jason is very professional and friendly, and as the "face" of Retrievex to the customers, he's certainly a good representative for the company.. My staff and I are extremely happy with the customer service we are receiving, the prompt responses and the friendly atmosphere provided by Retrievex.

All my dealings with Retrievex have been extremely positive, and I would not hesitate to make the same choice again. We all have choices about who we do business with and I highly recommend Retrievex as a perfect choice."
