Bloomfield, Connecticut. Baram, Tapper & Gans, LLC, Attorneys at Law, announced that two attorneys have joined the firm: Meghann E. LaFountain and Brian S. Karpe.

“We are delighted to announce the addition of two new attorneys to the Firm,” said David A. Baram, Managing Member. “By adding Meghann and Brian, Baram, Tapper & Gans, LLC remains one of the oldest, largest and continuously operating law offices in Bloomfield. Additionally, we are augmenting our legal services in the areas of criminal and personal injury, and providing for continuity in the future.”

Attorney Meghann LaFountain concentrates her practice in Immigration Law. She received her B.A. Degree in political science in 2007 from the University of Connecticut and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut, School of Law in 2011. Meghann is involved in various causes in the U. S. and abroad, including a nonprofit dedicated to building houses in Haiti and other countries.

Meghann’s humanitarian interests complement her legal work in the Immigration area, where legal services to individuals include family reunification, visas, adjustments of status, asylum and refugee matters, student visas, and citizenship issues such as naturalization and deportation matters including waivers. Meghann resides in Middletown.

Attorney Brian S. Karpe practices in the areas of criminal defense, DUI, family law, personal injury, worker’s compensation and real estate. His experience in criminal defense includes appointments as a special public defender in felony and misdemeanor matters. Brian has represented clients in both state and Federal court criminal prosecutions.

Brian received his Juris Doctor from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa and his undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Maine at Orono. Brian is licensed to practice law in the states of Connecticut and Colorado. He has represented clients before the Connecticut Superior and Appellate Courts, the Colorado District Courts as well as the U.S. District, District of Connecticut and U.S. District Court, District of Colorado. Brian resides in Simsbury.

The firm of Baram, Tapper & Gans, LLC is located at Three Regency Drive in Bloomfield, CT. Attorneys in the firm provide legal services in the areas of Accident and Personal Injury, ¬Business Law, Civil Litigation, Condominium Law, Criminal Law, Divorce and Family Law, Elder Law, Wills and Probate, Immigration, Real Estate, and Zoning.
