Bloomfield is located in Central Connecticut, just 10 minutes west of the state capitol, Hartford. It is easily accessible to Bradley International Airport and interstates 84 and 91. The Town encompasses 26.4 miles and has a population of 20,000 residents. This quiet, friendly, and picturesque town offers the perfect opportunity for businesses seeking a strategic location in New England, with the largest tract of undeveloped industrial land in the Capitol Region.
Bloomfield has a town council-town manager form of government. The Town Council consists of nine members elected-at-large. The Council appoints a town manager who is responsible for the administration of policy set by the Council. Visit the link below and see why Bloomfield is “A Great Place to Work, Live & Play!”
In August 2012, the Town of Bloomfield published an updated “Plan of Conservation & Development”. This document sets forth a vision and common goals for the Town’s development in the future. The Plan is available through the Town’s website at the following address: http://bloomfieldct.org/Plugs/pocd.aspx
As one of its first steps in implementing the updated Plan, the Town has engaged a consultant to help develop a strategy for development of the Town Center. Members of the Chamber Board of Directors recently participated in the consultant’s information gathering interview. We will update this page as the Town’s assessment of Town Center options progresses.
